Shannon's Senior Pics
Cousin Shannon asked me to take some senior pictures of her while we were in Cedar City last week. Our little photo shoot was so much fun. I'm really happy with how they turned out and hope she is too. It helped to have such a willing and photogenic subject. Shannon is just beautiful. Check out those green eyes!
Thanks Shannon for the experience and the fun time.

win, win
I did a good deed for a friend yesterday. Luckily for me, the "good deed" just happened to involve attending a posh release party for a book by one of my favorite photographers.
Mallory sent me on a mission to the release party for famous New York based photographer Rodney Smith's newest book, The End. Please take a moment and check out his work, he is an amazing, inspiring and very famous photographer. Mal is his biggest fan and the least I could do was walk the two blocks to Bloomingdales after work and get a picture with him.

It turned out to be so fun. Mr. Smith was a very nice, personable guy with a sweet New York accent, and he introduced me to some of his assistants who are LDS and went to BYU! You can read the details at Mallory's blog here.

georgetown

Georgetown was definitely one of our favorite parts of the trip. We spent hours walking around the streets, shopping, taking pictures, eating in little restaurants, and admiring the gorgeous buildings. An afternoon well spent.

Goofing around in Restoration Hardware:

One of the main streets with shops and restaurants and tourists. I loved the flower baskets.

playing with photoshop
I'm excited; I just learned some stuff in Photoshop. I'm really really intimidated by that program so this is a big step for me. :) Klane keeps sending me tutorials and I keep procrastinating looking at them because I think they'll be way over my head. I finally decided to go for it and tried out one that shows you how to do a vintage effect on photos.
Here are a few photos from Saturday night in Brooklyn, and one of Klane on the Intrepid (it looked like a good "vintage" candidate). These are by no means perfect, but fun for a first try.
If you've got Photoshop, go ahead and try out the tutorial for yourself. It's surprisingly easy!
