Sweet, Sweet Victory

One of the things I was most looking forward to when we visited home was the BYU vs. Utah game. I really love watching football. Especially BYU football. And as a true blue cougar fan, I also love watching the University of Utah (our rivals) lose. I won't be as publicly emphatic about my hatred of Utah as Max Hall was in his comments after the game Saturday night, but let's just say I also harbor a very strong feeling of rivalry toward them.

We've been watching the games all season via video chat. You can imagine how that would compromise the audio/video quality of the game, but we'll take what we can get. When the opportunity arose to watch one of the games in person, in cougar stadium, against Utah (definitely the most crazy and exciting game of the year), I was so excited.

Tell me you don't love Klane's full grown moustache in this video. I will tell you I don't. :) No no, really it wasn't too bad. There were only two days left in Movember at this point.

We loved being at the game with my dad and Brandon, and it was all the more sweet when BYU beat Utah in overtime. Thousands of fans poured onto the field, and we joined the fray. It was awesome. My dad was one of the people to hoist Andrew George over the crowd after he scored the winning touchdown. Check it out in the video below, but turn your computer volume down first, it's pretty loud!

On Thursday my office was offering free Mets tickets to all the employees, so I snagged some and Klane and I hopped on the train right after work and headed to Citi Field in Queens for a night at the ball game! It was kind of spontaneous and so fun.

Turned out they were VIP tickets, so we got to go in this exclusive (air conditioned!) lounge, and also got really great seats.


Okay, so our pocket-size camera isn't the best. Like I said, we went straight from work, it was all I had.


Brand-new Citi Field is so nice.



And... they have a Shake Shack. Oh yes. Sometimes I forget how delicious it really is. Totally worth waiting in line for two innings.




Nothing more all-american than watching a baseball game eating burgers, shakes and fries. It was so much fun.

Yankees beat Mariners. We ate hot dogs and cheered for Ken Griffey. Good times had by all.

We went to Yankee Stadium in the Bronx this morning to get tickets for a game this week. Let it be known that we are loyal Boston fans and therefore hate the Yankees. We love baseball, however, so we're going to watch the Yankees vs. Mariners tomorrow. Here is Mike showing his distain for the Yankees:

The Steve Nash Foundation put on an event to benefit underpriviledged children called the Showdown in Chinatown. They get famous athletes (basketball and soccer players) to come play a soccer game. They asked Calle to be one of their sponsors and provide all the gear for the players to wear. This was a HUGE opportunity for Calle to get some awesome exposure since there was tons of news coverage and big names there. Some of the players were Steve Nash, Claudio Reyna, Thierry Henry, Tony Parker, Javier Zanetti, Adrian Mutu, Chris Bosh, Ivan Cordoba, Grant Hill, and Giovanni van Brockhurst. (I hadn't heard of Thierry Henry, but watch this video of him and you'll see why he is super famous.)

Klane is one of the founders of Calle, a fashion clothing brand centered on core street soccer, but has been less involved over the past year since he wanted to focus on school and the ad agency world for a while. He still does some things for them, like designing their blog and online store, etc. So Calle asked Klane to photograph the event and catch all the superstars in Calle gear. We even got to go to the after-party at a ritzy Manhattan night club and party with all the celebs. :) We don't drink and the party wasn't really our thing, but it was fun to be there and see it all. Since Tony Parker was involved we hoped to see Eva Longoria (his wife), but she wasn't there.

i love my parents

My parents are here! I'm so happy. They flew in this afternoon and I met them at their hotel. We wasted no time and visited Magnolia Bakery on the way back to my apartment for some cupcakes and hot chocolate. (For the record, the oreo cupcake Klane and I shared from Crumbs was probably better than these ones from Magnolia. Just sayin.) Then it was off to the Redsox/Yankees game to see our Sox pull out the second win in the series! It was good to be a Boston fan last night. We had so much fun with my parents talking and eating lots of "game food". I'm so excited for the rest of the week with them!
