here's to life

(Commercial currently airing on local television, created by the BYU Ad Lab)

World Water Week is here! Go out to eat this week for a good cause.

Globally, a total of more than 2.5 billion people are living without access to a safe drinking water source. But for people like us who are fortunate enough to live where safe water and sanitation are taken for granted, there are ways to help these children and families. The Tap Project, initiated by the US Fund for UNICEF and partners, is one of them.

Just $1 can provide safe drinking water for a child for 40 days. The project asks diners in restaurants across the United States to donate $1 for the tap water they usually get for free. More than 2,300 restaurants throughout the country are participating.

Utah readers, head to the Utah Tap web site (designed by our very own Klane) to find a restaurant near you or donate to the cause. And no matter where you live, you can participate. Visit the Tap Project web page to find participating restaurants near you.

something we can all drink to

Utah Tap TV Spot from Mike Morris on Vimeo.

Everyone needs to know about this!

The Ad Lab was chosen to promote the Tap Project in Utah (a huge deal since real live, grown up, not part of school agencies out there are covering it in other states). The week of March 22, go out to eat and donate one dollar for the water you'd usually get for free. Every dollar provides clean drinking water for a child for 40 days.

He's still alive!

This is Klane on the beach with Santa Monica Pier behind him. On his quick trip to LA he was able to visit and tour four of the top advertising agencies in the world; now he's thinking he would love to work there after our internship. Possibly at Deutsch or Chait/Day (those would be dream jobs).

You blog-readers may feel like you haven't seen much of Klane lately... well, neither have I! He has definitely been a busy guy these last few weeks with multiple school and work projects, plus church responsibilities and such. He has successfully designed two websites for different companies (click and appreciate the beautiful design ;)), entered the Loreal Brandstorm competition, completed his portfolio for internships, done work at the Ad Lab for Nike and Burger King as well as many other companies, built a video and travelled to LA for a company called Hydrorain, completed several solo and group projects for classes, and most recently he was on a team that concepted and filmed a commercial. There have been many all-nighters and busy days... and somehow he has survived! I love Klane and I'm always amazed at his integrity in his work and at how much he is able to accomplish with his time. Here's some pics of the commercial shoot yesterday.

It was a creative idea; I will just explain that they're using headphones as defibrillators for this guy, who is about to die from listening to such awful music. The commercial is for an online music site, I think.

He Got In!!

Exciting news: Klane made it into the Creative Track of the Advertising program at BYU! We broke into the Brimhall building at midnight on Friday to sneak upstairs and look at the list. He was one of 16 that made it in. Go Klane!
