Sweet, Sweet Victory

One of the things I was most looking forward to when we visited home was the BYU vs. Utah game. I really love watching football. Especially BYU football. And as a true blue cougar fan, I also love watching the University of Utah (our rivals) lose. I won't be as publicly emphatic about my hatred of Utah as Max Hall was in his comments after the game Saturday night, but let's just say I also harbor a very strong feeling of rivalry toward them.

We've been watching the games all season via video chat. You can imagine how that would compromise the audio/video quality of the game, but we'll take what we can get. When the opportunity arose to watch one of the games in person, in cougar stadium, against Utah (definitely the most crazy and exciting game of the year), I was so excited.

Tell me you don't love Klane's full grown moustache in this video. I will tell you I don't. :) No no, really it wasn't too bad. There were only two days left in Movember at this point.

We loved being at the game with my dad and Brandon, and it was all the more sweet when BYU beat Utah in overtime. Thousands of fans poured onto the field, and we joined the fray. It was awesome. My dad was one of the people to hoist Andrew George over the crowd after he scored the winning touchdown. Check it out in the video below, but turn your computer volume down first, it's pretty loud!

The hero, #88 Andrew George, who ran in the winning touchdown in overtime.

Thanks dad, for taking us to the game. It was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend! Go COUGARS!!!

hangin with the boys

My parents are in Rome this week. They're visiting their friends the Acersons, who are mission presidents there. Then they're going to Switzerland to see the land of our forefathers. More about that on their blog soon, i'm sure.

Anyway, i spent most of today with the boys. It has been a very nice day. Justin's meal plan provided us all lunch at the Cannon Center, which was on my list of things to do before we leave Provo, believe it or not. Klane had told me that the food was amazing since they remodeled the place. He was right. Also on the list: J-Dawgs. Brandon accompanied me on errands this afternoon, and later we (plus Justin) met Klane on campus for homemade pizza. Now the boys are happily playing our PS3 in my living room, which is great since Klane will be on campus until tomorrow, probably. Brandon will probably stay the night. It's nice to have company when Klane isn't going to be able to make it home. Can't wait for his classes to be DONE on Wednesday!!!

here's to life

(Commercial currently airing on local television, created by the BYU Ad Lab)

World Water Week is here! Go out to eat this week for a good cause.

Globally, a total of more than 2.5 billion people are living without access to a safe drinking water source. But for people like us who are fortunate enough to live where safe water and sanitation are taken for granted, there are ways to help these children and families. The Tap Project, initiated by the US Fund for UNICEF and partners, is one of them.

Just $1 can provide safe drinking water for a child for 40 days. The project asks diners in restaurants across the United States to donate $1 for the tap water they usually get for free. More than 2,300 restaurants throughout the country are participating.

Utah readers, head to the Utah Tap web site (designed by our very own Klane) to find a restaurant near you or donate to the cause. And no matter where you live, you can participate. Visit the Tap Project web page to find participating restaurants near you.

something we can all drink to

Utah Tap TV Spot from Mike Morris on Vimeo.

Everyone needs to know about this!

The Ad Lab was chosen to promote the Tap Project in Utah (a huge deal since real live, grown up, not part of school agencies out there are covering it in other states). The week of March 22, go out to eat and donate one dollar for the water you'd usually get for free. Every dollar provides clean drinking water for a child for 40 days.

He Got In!!

Exciting news: Klane made it into the Creative Track of the Advertising program at BYU! We broke into the Brimhall building at midnight on Friday to sneak upstairs and look at the list. He was one of 16 that made it in. Go Klane!

Hardworking man...

Our lives have been absolutely CRAZY lately. Klane's portfolio to apply for the creative track of the advertising program was due last Friday, plus he has been doing some on-the-side freelance design work in addition to his regularly full work and school schedule. I feel like I never see him! He has been up till 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 in the morning every night the past two weeks. This is how I found him a couple nights last week when I woke up at 4:45 and noticed the lamp was still on in the living room. He falls asleep working on his computer and I think it's so cute I had to take a picture. I woke him up and coaxed him to bed so he could get a couple hours before his 8:00 AM class. My husband works too hard. I just love him though.
