Ice skating at Bryant Park

True to his word, Klane took me ice skating at Bryant Park. It was on my to-do list this winter. Turns out we were just in time, because this was the last weekend for skating! I haven't been out with the camera in a while, so we took quite a few pictures. It was so much fun!

so excited. (he loves when I post embarrassing pictures of him.)

haha. so posed.

the Bryant Park Hotel (in the background) is a cool building, with the black and gold.

I do love Bryant Park. I do indeed. It's just pretty.

The New York Public Library makes a nice backdrop.

This is my embarrassed, "Uh oh I think people are looking at me" face. Those who know me may recognize it.

He was happy. It's just at the very moment I took this picture, I was getting in trouble with the Skate Police for having a camera on the ice. It was a little awkward. I was a little annoyed. I get really bothered by things like that.

extreme close-up!!

And... now I have to go prepare a talk and a lesson for church tomorrow. I'm feeling picked-on, yes. It will be good for me though. Wish me luck.

You are a vision on the ice, darling! So pretty. I love, love that you two are always out trying so many new things that New York has to offer. You're really making the best of your experience! Ah, I want to come to NYC NOW.

You look gorgeous:) and CONGRATS on having a happy Tuesday! Yay!
I do want to thank you for your "happiness" post; it was a good reminder to focus on the positives for me. I am "seriously so blessed!" to have the job and family that I do and be able to balance both. Tell your cute parents thanks for me cause I don't want to embarrass myself and get weepy:) I love your guts!

I love the "people are looking" face. You make me laugh.

I wish I liked ice skating. I don't like it at all. But if I did we would do this because you made it look so good.

I've been thinking about a new year's theme too...its a great idea because the list can get so overwhelming but when you focus on one theme it'll trickle in to all facets of your life...thanks for the inspiration Ang and Ice Skating looked like some good fun:) Cait

Oh this makes me so happy, cause I have been busy this weekend, but also wondering what you and Klaner were up to. I thought you would be busy having a blast and you were! Oh Angie, how do you always manage to make all of my fears look like so much fun? I am deathly afraid of ice skating (I am, in case you were wondering, afraid of many, many things). I've never tried ice skating (still not positive that I ever will), but now, after reading this post, I have just the slightest desire to give ice skating a try. It may not sound like much, but that little desire is a big deal for me!

SO MANY pretty pictures. I love them all! And I agree with the other comments. You look gorgeous!

And I don't blame you for getting annoyed about the skate police. How obnoxious! I'm glad that you managed to get some great pictures before you got in trouble.

I have to leave a multiple posts comment...I know it's lame but I just can't keep up with you with my lack of internet connection at my homestead.

Congrats on quitting a job you didn't like, thank you for letting me be a part of the subway through your pictures and videos, and I love the skate rink photos. I love the idea of the huge ice rink in a city but isn't it a bit crowded? I would think it would get annoying having so many people around. How can you do anything other than awkwardly slide a few inches?

Angie said...

Haha, Alyssa, yes it was very crowded and a little annoying at times! But there was enough room to skate. It was mostly crowded on the side where people were getting on or off the ice. Still fun though, and we never had any major collisions with other skaters (a few close calls though!).

The skate police at Bryant Park got me last year on my birthday for skating with balloons. Good thing they couldn't ruin my birthday even if they tried.

FUN!!!!! that is so lame they were getting on you guys for having a camera on the ice. weird.

also- YOU ARE A MODEL. that photo of you smiling on the ice looks like it was ripped out of some magazine. love it!!!

Ditto Dayna's comment-- all of it! I'm just glad that Supermodel Angie's camera didn't get smashed, confiscated, or knocked out of her hands-- that would've been tragic.

I also LOVE Bryant Park and the NY Public Library. Most tourists probably don't have it on the top of their "must see" list, but they should! Did you know that some of Bryant Park's landscape design is modeled after the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris? So pretty.

I hope your Sunday talk (and lesson) went well! HAVE A TERRIFIC (not toxic) TUESDAY TODAY--YAY!

tyler and i went to your dad's office today. lucky for us, tyler's one of those 1 in 50 males whose mandible keeps growing...so now we get to wait until it stops and go through treatment again! woot woot!

it was fun to visit where you used to work and talk with your dad a little bit. hope all is well for you. sure looks like it!!

You look so pretty on the ice! And I agree, the library makes a beautiful background.

How'd you talk go on Sunday?? Matt and I get to speak this Sunday and are SO EXCITED! (Please pick up on the sarcasm haha.) It actually won't be bad. But we're debating whether or not to do the traditional "We're new in the ward" intro. I'd like to skip it, but then again, sometimes I like hearing others' intros as long as they're not too long. Thoughts?

You took that picture as you were getting in trouble. I have a photo in my mission book of Elder Holland pointing at me and skolding me for snapping a photo of him at a mission conference in a chapel. Woops! I snapped the pic right as the Apostle was raising his hand to rebuke me! Its kind of a cool, yet awkward picture.
