journey to grimaldi's, mecca of pizza-lovers

First we walked to Brooklyn

where we got in line at Grimaldi's
and prepared to wait for the greatest pizza in the five boroughs.

Klane went to find an ATM and stumbled upon a boxing match.
One of the fighters was from Salt Lake! Cool!

On your mark, get set...
After a two hour wait, we were ready and determined to get some world class pizza.

And was it worth the wait?

chewy fresh mozzarella... coal-oven crispy crust... bubbly cheese... fresh toppings...
We say yes!

Then of course, dessert at the ice cream factory.
Creamy ice cream and gorgeous views.

An evening well spent.

Casey's post here.

Oh yum! It's the ice cream that got me, but it's Sunday and there's no ice cream in the house. Too cruel :)

I've been there with my family! Its so good, and the walk across the bridge is fun too. Only difference is that when we went it started down-pouring on us while we were waiting in line. Still worth it.

have you eaten at patsy's pizzeria? it's my fave in nyc, and i think it's pretty close to grimaldi's.

Angie, I would be way jealous of that Ice Cream if I were you. Klane looked a little too fresh with that ice cream cone.

Great pics and it brought back too many good memories, we better start planning another trip to the City. October anyone?
