I'm excited; I just learned some stuff in Photoshop. I'm really really intimidated by that program so this is a big step for me. :) Klane keeps sending me tutorials and I keep procrastinating looking at them because I think they'll be way over my head. I finally decided to go for it and tried out one that shows you how to do a vintage effect on photos.
Here are a few photos from Saturday night in Brooklyn, and one of Klane on the Intrepid (it looked like a good "vintage" candidate). These are by no means perfect, but fun for a first try.
If you've got Photoshop, go ahead and try out the tutorial for yourself. It's surprisingly easy!

Really love the effect. I kinda want to look up the old photos and see the difference!
Oh, I likey. I'm taking a break from packing (packing totally stinks).
So, I was wondering if you have or want to take a great picture of the Manhattan temple? I want one for the babes - Eli likes temples a lot and he esp likes ones that he's lived by (I have no idea who persuades him to like those more than the others:)). The point - maybe we could make one of our many outings to take picture of the temple. Or maybe you have one I can use/buy from you.
Oh my, I'm already asking so much from you and we're not even neighbors yet.
nice work! i especially like the last one!
These are so great! I play around with Photoshop from time to time, but I'm not nearly as good as you are. I really love these!
Also, looking at your pictures from Grimaldi's makes me miss New York soooo much. I lived right by there in Brooklyn Heights and, shockingly, never got a chance to go (I swear that I spent an entire 2 years in NY living under a rock called "architecture school work".) I've heard amazing things about it, though, so I'm very happy to hear that you went and loved it! I honestly think that in the short time that you've been living there, you've done more than I did in 2 years. That's so incredible, and I admire you so much for getting out there and seeing all the sites and doing fun things. Now I can read your lovely blog and live vicariously through you! Thanks for all that you share!
Sorry for the long comment.
Mom: I added before shots so you can see the difference!
Abbie: Yes I love that idea! Don't worry, I am all about planning more outings with you and your adorable kids.
Kaylie: Thanks, the last one's my fave.
Morgan: I always love your comments, long or short.
i think i've actually only ever been to the patsy's on 74th and columbus, but i've been to that one a lot! in my opinion it's better than grimaldi's.
Hey angie, i asked my roommate what that pizza place is called and it's Keste. http://www.kestepizzeria.com/home.html
we should go! :)
I'm so glad you shared this tutorial, I think you may have jump-started my many attempts of exploring phototshop! :)
I also wanted to thank you for the photo info on those two pictures. I've been researching canon cameras/lenses and have been overloaded with information! I love the Canon 50mm 1.4 lense you have. I've been debating between the rebel and the 50D (unless i can find a 40D). My mom has the new rebel, but it mainly stays on auto. I'm a tab bit indecisive, and a bit overboard in wanting to know everything about the camera/lenses... so hopefully I'll be able to make an impulse decisions soon! Anyway, your pictures are inspiring me! Have a great day Angie!
ps. We love our bikes and enjoy them often! Thank you for your comment!
I so want to learn Photoshop, but I know that it's over my head so I don't even try. I would love to get into photography but I think a class would benefit someone like me who doesn't know anything about cameras or computers. good job on the pictures...love them!
