the forecast

Yesterday it rained. A good excuse to stay inside and maybe get a little bored (hence the oreo/peanut butter episode). I did catch up on some reading, had a couple good long phone conversations, and took this picture of the raindrops hitting the railing on the fire escape. Seemed really cool at the time.

Today it was beautiful. Overcast; not cold, not hot. A good day to meet some new friends for lunch and cupcakes. I met up with Kathryn and Kelsey at Caracas Arepa Bar, which I've been wanting to try for a while and will definitely be back for. It was fun and the food was really good. Then down the street to Butter Lane for a cupcake, which was amazingly delicious. Probably the best I've had so far. Banana cake with cream cheese frosting. Oh yum. It was light and fluffy and just perfect. It's good to know someone who knows their way around. Thanks Kathryn and Kelsey, it was fun!

I did not, however, get many pictures. Just this really awful one through the front window. Lame, I know. All the more reason to go back soon, right...? I'm kind of in a photo slump but I'm going to pick myself up out of it and go shoot something.

As far as the job search goes, I'm waiting to hear back from the temp agency, which is the route I've decided to go. All the hygienists I've talked to have pointed me in that direction. Once I have an interview I'll still have to wait to get my license to practice, which shouldn't take longer than a week or two.

i also love reading your adventures. keep them coming. it makes me wish i was there.

good luck finding a job! hopefully you have better luck than we have out here. sarah's the only one i know of that's found a job, aside for carolyn and brooke, who are working for the dentists they worked for previously.

The best part about this is that I read it envisioning Klane writing it. It's really funny when you read it that way. P.S. I am very jealous of you guys.
And Klane is so talented that I know you guys will be able to graduate to chunky peanut butter soon enough. Hey there big spenders!

Wait, I totally forgot to ask you about your frosting. How was it?? Sadly, I've only had two cupcakes there - the banana cake w. raspberry frosting, and then the banana cake with the peanut butter frosting. I've never looked back since getting that one (4 times in 1 week?? is that too often?? I think not). Oh man, it's just SO good.

I'm glad we could meet up today. Let's plan another outing soon so that we can keep any boredom safely at bay. I'll send you my list of things I still want to do in NYC, even after four years of living here...

Ok, that is the coolest (is that a word?) raindrop I've ever seen! You definately have an eye for photography! You should just find a job doing photograpy! And I love your life! I know that I only get the "blog" part of your life....but, it still sounds way amazing!
